Keep On Giving To Our Local Charities

Jane_Gurney_and_Air_crew

We look at how the credit crunch has affected the number of donations made to charity and the best ways to get involved to continue giving that little bit of hope.

“Unfortunately the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust has seen a drop in all areas of our fundraising, including individual donors, groups and society donations and corporate sponsorship. These are obviously testing times for everyone due to the tough economic climate we find ourselves in. We are so grateful to our supporters and volunteers who are very loyal to the Charity. It's amazing how much even the smallest donation helps. For insta nce, if everyone in Hertfordshire gave us just £1 a year then the A ir Ambulance would be self funding! Read more

Above all we want to involve you so that you can help shape this website with us.You'll find our contact details to the right of this feature.

Put Your Heart Into Your Home

What trends can we expect to see in interior design this coming year?

“Wood and multi-fuel burning stoves help set a great atmosphere in a home and this has enhanced their popularity and made them the new fashionable home must have. The aesthetics of stoves has changed in recent years with more simple contemporary stoves becoming ever more popular. One door and large glass fronted stoves have taken the lead to gain full view of the flames, along with full ranges of stove colours to make the stove a magnificent focal point in any room.

Stove efficiency (over three times more heat efficient than open fires) has advanced with the latest burning technology, forcing emissions to combust twice within the stove thus reducing final carbon emissions. Burning wood is completely Carbon Neutral; trees consume more CO2 whilst growing than it emits during burning and it is one of the very few fuels which are renewable in our lifetime, a stark contrast to all fossil fuels. “
