Does the thought of going to your overcrowded gym or having to book that Pilates class a week in advance put you off going altogether? Yes, us too! Emily Cole finds out why we are sure you will join us in welcoming with open arms Claire Simmonds’ answer to avoiding the fights for the treadmill!

Claire is a level 3 Personal Trainer, with Pre & Post natal and GP Referral qualifications, whose passion for health and wellbeing is evident. She tells me “I wanted to do something that I enjoy and incorporate that with helping people to achieve results and feel good about themselves. By setting up my own health suite, myself and my colleagues are able to train clients with specialised programmes to suit their needs in a private environment, whether you prefer to train alone or train with friends”.

Apple Tree Wellbeing is a “small, friendly and exclusive” personal training suite nicely tucked away in a tranquil Thorley farm setting a few minutes outside Bishop’s Stortford. Surrounded by open fields, training can take place indoors and out. This luxury means that you can vary your programme to challenge and transform your body! The spacious surroundings also allow for plenty of free parking metres away from where you train.

The indoor training suite not only contains all the core training aids that you find in your local gym, you will also discover alternative training methods, which means that “exercise can be more fun and varied than the standard gym session”. Brand new, top of the range cardio equipment, medicine balls, fit balls and free weights are all on offer. All this as well as a private treatment room offering beauty treatments, massages, baby massage and physio. Apple Tree Wellbeing has it all covered!

The key to progression is variety, so why not combine your workouts with a personal Pilates class? With classes of no more than 6 people, the instructor can ensure that each individual is given personal attention.

After your training session, make use of the private changing and shower facilities where even towels and luxury toiletries are provided. You can then treat yourself to a well deserved delicious (trust me I have tried it!) hot chocolate, tea or coffee, or snack on the fruit provided whilst you relax and socialise on the comfy sofas or in the sunshine in the outdoor seating area.

With it’s specialised approach, Apple Tree Wellbeing is designed to suit any individual regardless of fitness level, age or gender. And with tailored training for conditions including back pain, high cholesterol, diabetes, osteoporosis and arthritis, there are no excuses! You can train “at times to suit you”, whether you are a stay at home parent or you work full time. New mothers need not worry about leaving their babies in a gym creche, as your little ones can remain in sight throughout your workout.

Apple Tree Wellbeing heralds a “new approach to personal training” that will give you the fresh zest and attitude towards exercise that you have been searching for.
