Meant to say, whilst I have been to Grill 55 in the evening (special occasions- about £20 for a main meal- though really filling!)... I love their £6 lunch menu for meeting up with friends. It is amazing value and the food is delicious! Lynn Robertson
The Chequers Ugley

Had a lovely Sunday carvery at The Chequers in Ugley today. £8.95 adults, £6 children. So nice to go to a traditional pub rather than a chain and the food and service was excellent.Nicola McManus

Great atmosphere, lovely service and brilliant for a romantic night out as the restaurant is small and intimate. We experienced a few problems but the potential for a fantastic night out is there, they just need more staff at front of house. We'll give them another shot, as the food we got was great!- Jess De Cleene
The Lemon Tree

The Lemon Tree in Stortford, went there for 2nd time last night. It's brilliant for a romantic evening. Food is sublime, we (husband and I) both rate it as easily the best restaurant in Stortford. Wine list is excellent too. The risotto starter and steak main both get top marks from us. The staff are very knowledgable and extremely eager to please. Can't wait to go there again, just need a babysitter. Karianne Marking

I love wine. I love everything about it. I love to drink it, I love to read about it, I love to share it with friends or be completely selfish. I’ve been known to prowl along the aisles, completely oblivious, eyes up-cast to those bottles I would love to buy on a regular basis. My modest aim here is to help de-mystify some aspects of wine and give you a frame of reference to tempt your palate into trying something new.
