The pony is making a comeback. So says Jessica Hogan at Vogue.com ‘Hair was pulled back into a nonchalant pony at Alexander Wang, boyish at Max Azria and relaxed at Diane Von Furstenberg. It was then given a final seal of approval at the pivotal Marc Jacobs.’ Back at Mwaah, 17 year old Katie Coe shows just how simple it is to achieve the Autumn 11 look.

  1.  Decide on whether you would like your pony smooth and straight or full and curly. Straighten or curl hair according to mood!
  2.  To fringe or not to fringe – at this point if you do want a fringe, separate some hair.
  3.  Backcomb hair at front of head to create some height. If you don’t want a fringe this is when any smaller fly away strands of hair can be kept in line.
  4.  Decide whether you want a high pony or a low one and brush hair back to suit and fix hair with a band.
  5.  Separate a piece of hair beneath the pony and wrap it round the band to cover. Secure with a clip.
  6.  For the fuller pony backcomb the curls.
  7.  If desired, comb the fringe into position and clip.
Voila! Two looks in the shake of a pony's tail.
